Upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820: download speeds up to 600Mbps
A new system-on-chip by Qualcomm is coming and it promises really fast download, uplink and support Wi-Fi speeds. It is the Snapdragon 820 and is making us really wish to have a phone with this processor, that the company claims it is the most powerful one they’ve ever made.
This is a Category 12 LTE system able to bond together three LTE connections simultaneously, making it possible to have a 600Mbps download speed, getting phones one step closer to the 1GBps mark. And making it faster for you to download big files and watch high definition videos on your mobile device. It also has a Category 13 uplink that reaches up to 150MBps speeds sending data to the tower using two connections at the same time.
Snapdragon 820’s LTE X12 modem is also capable of choosing automatically between LTE and Wi-Fi, determinated by the signal quality, end-to-end connection speed and Internet reachability. This means that if you are in a crowded place and you are making a Whatsapp or Skype call, your phone would be able to determinate if Wi-Fi signal is slow and change it automatically to LTE signal before the call drops.
Do you want a phone with a Snapdragon 820 processor? Don’t despair! Qualcomm expects them to be sold by the first half of 2016.
